Getting started

The basics

How long does it take to sign up?

The process is simple and takes minutes. Submit your application and supporting papers, and we begin processing your details and assessing the merits of your claim.

Does it cost me anything to find out?

No. The assessment is free. If we accept your case, the engagement is on a No Win, No Fee basis — you pay nothing up front. We agree a percentage of any recovery in advance, and only collect if we win.

What if I lose?

If we run your claim and it doesn't succeed, you don't owe us a fee. We also normally arrange After-the-Event insurance to cover the other side's costs — we'll explain this clearly in your engagement letter before you sign anything.

What documents do I have to provide (KYC)?

Know Your Client. To commence your claim, we verify your identification: one form of photo ID, one proof of address, plus a selfie holding the ID. Anything else specific to your case — payslips, contracts, rotas — we'll request when we need it.

Process

What happens next

How long does the process take?

All litigation takes time. The Birmingham City Council Equal Pay Claim commenced in 2012 and was settled in December 2024 — that's an extreme example. We are tenacious and we always proceed with claims as expeditiously as possible. We'll give you a realistic estimate at the outset and keep you updated.

How much compensation will I receive?

It depends on the value of the contracts or assignment rates underlying your claim. Each practice-area page on this site gives a guide; once we have your details we can give you a specific range.

Will I have to go to court?

When claims are brought on behalf of a group, this is highly unlikely. Only one claimant — the lead claimant — is typically required to attend.

Is this like a PPI claim?

There are similarities. As one of our claimants you would be part of a group action against the Agencies, Umbrella Companies or end Client through which you worked.

Can I withdraw?

Yes. You can withdraw at any time, subject to the terms of your engagement letter — which we'll walk you through carefully before you sign. We'd rather you withdraw than stay in a case you're uncomfortable with.

Trust & regulation

Who you're dealing with

Are you a real law firm?

Yes. We are authorised and regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority. SRA number 8003076. You can verify us on the SRA's public register at sra.org.uk/solicitors-register/.

Where are you based?

Our registered office is at Unit E2, The Point Office Business Park, Weaver Road, Lincoln, LN6 3QN. We act for clients across the United Kingdom.

What if I'm not happy with the service?

Tell us. We take complaints seriously and have a formal complaints procedure — we'll send it on request. If we can't resolve a complaint between us, you have the right to refer it to the Legal Ombudsman; full details are in your engagement letter.

How is my data handled?

We are bound by client confidentiality, legal professional privilege and the UK GDPR. We share information only with people working on your claim and, where the claim progresses, with the court and the other side. We never sell client data.
